MATT SHEPPERD
Founder and President
Matt Shepperd started I Am Change out of a heart of compassion for global needs and motivation to create a catalytic movement of ‘everyday people’. Beyond cliche’, Matt really does ‘want to change the world’; and it seems as though I Am Change is making great strides in that direction. “The potential that lies in the hearts and hands of us as everyday people, really can change the world if it were to become awakened. Yet, I believe that the majority of people in our country (US) simply don’t understand the brevity of needs outside our borders; and, those that do simply feel paralyzed to combat them. So, we must begin strategically engaging these needs in ways that we can grasp personally and that make a legitimate difference globally.”
Spending his time developing relationships with partner organizations, establishing projects in the developing world, and traveling the US speaking in various venues, Matt is passionate about expanding people’s world-view and getting help to those who desperately need it.
Matt resides in The Woodlands, TX (Houston) with his wife and three sons.
DATHAN PETRUCCIO
Teach Hope
Dathan Petruccio joined I Am Change after 10 years as a high school teacher. Everything changed during a trip to southern Sudan where he was providing training for local teachers. Dathan was touched by the tremendous need for proper education and the economic conditions that prevented many children from ever attending school.
Deciding to leave education, he now focuses on where the need is greatest; choosing now to build schools, offer training for teachers, and provide needed supplies to communities around the world. By providing an opportunity to attend schools, communities can have hope for long term economic stability for future generations.
Dathan resides in The Woodlands, TX with his wife and two children.
